My garage is a slightly over sized two car. I have a furnace buddy who's installed lots of the Mitsubishi mini split combo heater/AC, runs on electricity. Cost is around 3K, but the garage would be heated in the winter (45) and cooled (80) in the summer. We have a big temperature change here in the Midwest, so even though its pricey it might be a consideration....if I can convince the wife....lol.
