Building custom door panels

so I need to put a roll bar in my car and the factory arm rest is going to be smack dab in the way. I don’t want to bend the door bar into the sitting area either. So I decided to basically redo everything. Purist turn away now. ***** about to get custom......

The factory door lock removed.

Then I started the brackets for new door handle mechanism.

Then installed 3/8” shaft
 
so nobody makes door handles or window cranks for Mopars so I got a Chevy kit and chopped it up

I drilled out the splines and pressed in a steel sleeve

Then it was time to build brackets for my new door pulls. Since arm rest was gone needed something to close door with


Poured me a glass of wine, pulled my hair back, put on my apron and got to sewing.

Then installed the grommets

No fair, you got milling machines n waterjets n stuff. :D
Fine job, I just came in from the shop, starting some custom panels myself.

No milling machine. I used a palm router with wood bits. Trust me I’m as simple as it gets. I made paper template and took it to waterjet place I have a hookup at

WOW!!!! You make it look so easy! I really like the design you've done. One day I'm hoping to make custom touches like that. But for now I really want to drive the car.

Nice work.
I'd been considering universal aluminum panels that Jegs sells.
The strap is a great idea... My armrest hits the rollcage.
