Hi EABO my question is I have the chance to buy a 1980-81 dodge 3/4 ton Dana60 rearend complete. 4:11 ratio. Would this be a donor rear for a A body upgrade? going in 71 Duster .Thanks for any info:thankyou:

Should work just fine for what you want to do. with any luck it has a track lock or Sure Grip or power lock carrier in it.
You would just have to change the side gears To 30 spline or 35 spline. Need to talk to doctor diff he can line you up with what you need to do and the parts to do it with.
You realize that you cannot bolt a pinion snubber on a truck axle housing without welding on some mounts?

Thanks for the info, ill contact the Dr. for the dimensions I need to modify the length of housing and ends needed

Not to insult you, but you do realize you will have to shorten it and add housing ends plus buy axles right?

don't forget brakes, backing plates and brake drums also. unless you got big bolt pattern drums and backing plates already from your other rear end.

1 and 7/8 brake drums and backing plates from an a body 8 and 3/4 rear end will not work for what you wanting to do. you need the big bolt pattern 10 x 2 and 1/2.

when I installed my pickup dana 60, under my A body, I used the stock 8 3/4 axles and brake setup. axles were made for a body, they fit great!! 1 3/4 brakes by 10". my after market axles were made with big bolt pattern.

Agreed.

Axles can be purchased in either brake standoff distance and bolt circle. SBP brake drum just need redrilling to large bolt pattern if you go BBP.

So the total length of the housing with A body housing ends welded on would be the same measurement as the stock A body housing? correct?

Yes. 52 1/2. Or 52 5/8

Dr diff can tell you all about it. He also has the disc brakes for it.

I have a few sets of loaded 11x2.5 backing plates

4.11's are a little steep for the street unless you're just staying around town. Don't forget about the drive shaft, it's going to have to be shortened for the dana.
