How wide did they come from the factory
and what back spacing

Steel wheels
14x4.5
14x5.5
Rallye wheels
14x5.5
Dont have the back spacing in front of me.
They also made a steel 13x4.5

yah mine were 13S on my65 barracuda but that is what made them so quick in a rollon too but no topend

Here is my 14" X 5 1/2" Rallye wheel (small bolt pattern):

I assume the 14" X 5 1/2" steel wheel would be the same.

I just went out in the garage and measured both a 4.5 wide and a 5.5 wide non-rallye plain steel wheels (65 Barracuda Formula S). both wheels are 14'. The 4.5 backspacing is 3 1/2" and the 5.5 is 3 13/16.

I don't know if that is how wheel manufacturers measure backspacing or not. I laid a board across the edge of the wheel (no tire installed) and put the ruler down to the backside of the mounting surface. As most everyone knows a 5.5 wheel will actually measure approximately 6.5 outside to outside as wheel width is determined at where the bead hits the wheel (approximately 1/2" inboard on each side). Hope it helps.

Back side of wheel ( where it contacts hub face ) to tire bead contact to wheel ( inside ).... that is why you should then give yourself 1.5-2 inches of clearance on top of that towards vehicle side ..??????
