Am getting near to end of restoration of '68 cuda, dark green, 383 4-sp, matching numbers. Your car and mine could be brothers. Ours both very original, complete survivors. I decided to go for a "correct" restoration to the point of reusing any rubber parts that were original. I try not to use any reproduction parts. A high level of insanity for sure! I only mention this to you because you will be making decisions in the future. Have fun.

Not to get off the subject, but here in California it's very hard to find qualified people and very expensive. Right now, delays are with the motor. Got a good builder, but he now has cancer. Can't push him, right? Qualified men are old, rare, sick and dying. Shifter has been at Passon for 5 months, whats going on with them? So, when will my car be on road? Who knows. Delay, delay, delay.

Car looks great. Take your time. The GTS is my 5th restoration project. And if you read back, you'll see where I had a **** load of trouble out of the Howards camshaft I used. But... Its all back together now , and goin back in... Nothin but Time.... LOL

Ok... It's Baaaaaack.... In, that is..... One man job..Not that easy though, with the trans in place and those exhaust manifolds...Motor mounts and trans bolts all secured. Probably work more on it tomorrow, to fit it out.

Thanks, Its at my Buddies Body Shop now, getting some new metal and paint. Hope to have it back for assembly in the spring...
Always kind of the frustration on these builds when we have to let go of the car to someone else! I get antsy and impatient neither of which solve anything! Mine goes to paint 2/25/19 I am working like a dog to get done in time. No telling when I will get it back! This forum is made up of a bunch of folks who like to do all the work they possibly can themselves. It is why I like it. Your rig looks great. My favorite engine color as well!

I know what you mean - I'm from down in SoCal and I'm lucky to have an excellent engine machinist, chrome guy, and body guy -- Took years to find the "right" people who know what they are doing
