no that wasn't me.. i got it at a junk yard.. guy is a big mopar guy. his son used to drive htis one. he had a lot of cars in the yard with stuff like that written on the windows..lol

I actually paid $3800 for the truck and $200 for the tailgate. So 4K total. I thought it was fair.

Yeah I've seen a lot of talk on this forum about a more purposeful truck LOL.
When I seen the thread about the little red express it did give me aspirations of making a clone Sno fitter out of my truck or Sno Commander. It's more of a rust Commander now... LOL I'm sure your wife will like it I know my wife likes driving around in the big truck.

Looks like a great project for a good price. I've always liked those trucks. Congrats on your purchase!
Only thing wrong is it was the 78 not the 79 that was the fasest production vehicle. The 79 was slower than the 78.
The 79 had catalytic converters the 78 did not.
Still an interesting video though.

Very cool. I was always a fan of the 79. Even if the 78 is faster, i don't like the grill.
I'm the opposite I like the single headlight 78 Grill better.

my son prefers the 78, i prefer the 79. looks more finished and refined to me. may also be because there was a 79 across the street from me as a kid that i fell in love with.... but i sure wouldn't kick a 78 out of my driveway thats for sure. if the 78 where i bought the 79 at was in better shape i probably would have bought that since i've never had a 78....

cleaned out all the mouse condo's as best i could without removing the seat. once the seat comes out i'll scrub the **** out of it..
floors are nice and solid.. threw some dryer sheets in there to add a plea sent smell..lol

also got it running today.. hasn't run since 1994
changed the oil..
threw a TQ i've had laying around for about 10 years on it since the original one was all jambed up.. reason for it idling so damn fast..
then found there was no spark.. a new ecu fixed that..
baby fired right up.. i couldn't believe it... its running off a little container of gas until i clean up the gas tank and put it back in...
some heavy smoke at first but it calmed down as it ran..
major exhaust leak. the little tube that goes to the rear of the exhaust manifold rotted off. gotta see if i can buy a new one.
other then that the motor runs real smooth.. nice and cool too..

My 84 did the same thing with that little tube.
