no, was affraid to put it in gear with it idling so fast.. didn't trust if the brakes would work.. i'll wait till i get it running and idling right...

Are you going. to J par it? He has done a super job of getting his lastest truck going.

more purposeful truck

haven't kept up with that thread...

i'm gonna get it running right and safe. then i'll clean it up and buff the paint and just drive it and have fun with it... i do have a 518 trans in a van out back that i think would be awesome in it.. those 3.55 gears really make the truck scream at 80 mph so od would be nice.

A.I.R. (Air Injection Reaction) cross over tube. That's gonna be a TOUGH part to find. I would replace it ONLY if the truck has to pass emissions. Otherwise, I would block it off. Of course, I GUESS if you are going for a 100% restoration........

Plus Factory AC. Cool. I always liked them, but I haven't seen one come up for sale nearby in forever. And I'm not buying one sight unseen.

Being a 79 are you required by law to have a smog pump and catalytic converters on the vehicle?

actually being a 79 it doesn't need to be inspected any more plus i can put historic tags on it and not worry about it.

doesn't need to pass inspection.. not sure what to do.. damn thing is so original its a shame to not keep it that way but hell if i keep the stuff i take off i guess it really doesn't matter..:) maybe slap a set of headers on the *****..

My buddy got his LRE back on the road this year! Absolutely my favorite LilRed!

And my BigOrangeExpress!

The LRE has an axle flip in the back and van arms and Dakota drop spindles in the front.

The orange truck has 2gn Ram 3" drop could up front and in the back it has flipped front hangers and rear drop hangers.

I had a survivor LIL back in early 90's. Filled that short bed full of parts, hooked the car trailer, loaded a b body and off I went! great power and drivability for a 1/2 t. I was used to a 1 t. 454 chevy for such., till I got late 90's cummns.

i gotta look more into that...

well i got a couple things done..

it was nice out a few weeks ago so i changed the oil and tried to get it running...

the original carb was all seized up from sitting since 1994 with no real protection so i threw one i have had laying around on it.

then it wasn't getting any spark.. i knew i had a new in box coil and ecu laying around that i always carried in the trunk of my yellow dart, but couldn't find them anywhere..

so i said screw it and pulled the carpet out and cleaned all the mouse condos out of it.. what a mess... floors are super clean which made me happy.. the stuff on them is mostly the carpet backing that stuck to the floor. still have to pull the seats and clean them up..
