Spectra Premium gas tank - Do they make a gas tank for 70 Duster with no vent tube
I cannot seem to find one.
Thanks for any help

I maybe wrong, but dose the 69 tank fit? They seem to be the same frame construction. The tank has no provisions for a tube, the vent tube is in the fill tube.

68 69 tanks are different form 70. 68 69 the filler tube is more towards the front of the car.

This is the difference from 69 and 70

what is your car?
70 Duster. Now that you show the picture, I do remember the trunk seal to be off a bit. It did go together though and looks fine now that it has been together for a while.

A couple ways to get around this.
Cut and rework fill pipe,
Or cut pipe and add in a section of rubber hose to give pipe the flex it needs to line up.

I know I can just put in a 72 and up tank and just plug the nibble. I thought maybe I was over looking the correct tank.

I was wrong, I knew they were similar but really did not know the difference. Thanks I am now informed.

Here are a couple of pics of before I tore the original tank out, and after installing the new one with the original fill tube. This car did not have all the ECS stuff from the factory. I personally don't think it warrants cutting and welding the tube. The neck fits flush to the quarter. The only issue is that the fill hole in the tank is not centered in the trunk hole like original, but the rubber seal gives enough to make it work. Always seems to be something with these old cars, doesn't it?

looks good But not sure is I want to but the much pressure on my quarter panel not fitting flat.

I ordered a CR11E
I will have to live with the nipple, at least it will fit right.

Assuming you have the vent line correctly hooked up at the filler tube on your 70 Duster you can just plug the vent fitting on your CR11E tank. Or better yet use it as a fuel return port in the future!

Exactly!
I am going to try it as a added vent up into the frame rail to help the nascar pump I am using. See how that works
2nd will be to use it as a return line

I hope this is a good sign that the Duster will be making an appearance on the roads of CT this summer, Dave!
