Factory tach wiring

I just checked my 1968 formula s cuda and it has a factory tach. The wire runs in the same hole and grommet that the speedo cable is . I am sure this is wrong . Here is a pic of a formula s cuda with grey tach wire through a hole next to the dimple mine used
