Recomended flex plate and torque converter for my 5.9 magnum engine

I have a 94 5.9 magnum. Manual transmission. Started looking into replacing my engine in my 318 power wagon. The stock flex plate for 94 has no weight. 96 and up is weighted.
The crank sensors are different from manual to automatic so be sure to verify the sensor is for automatic.
But if convertor outfit is supplying,you are ahead of the game.
Would be dilligent to ask the builder what year crank you should be dialing in for.
 
To much of a pain in the *** to go automatic.....

The 318 mini stroker will go in the 72 dart as planned a year ago. I have everything NEW to do this including the centerforce 700470 flywheel and clutch setup (3:55 gears) close ratio 833

Then I can put the 71 340 six pack set up, eddy heads and MSD set up on the 1973 340 Cuda I picked up at the end of the summer...super super clean and I
Swapped out the funky 73 bumpers for ADM 1972.

I can't imagine the 318 mini stroker to be a POS when Mike (MRL) seemed to be a go to guy for MOPAR engines
 
Who called it a POS? I suggested you VERIFY what you need to do it RIGHT, rather than assume.

I bought a flexplate from HIPOTEK for the new internal balanced 408
Flexplate Internal/Neutral Balance 3.9/5.2/5.9 Dodge Magnum Engine

Looking at the flexplate it has no weights. On the perimeter of the flexplate it has these square holes ... one ever so often. Another words the crank sensor that mounts to the rear of the engine detects the square holes. I've read about it and they call it the "tone ring".

The OEM flexplates will crack near where the plate mounts to the engine. I've seen pictures of one that has cracked. However the guy didn't state how much power his engine makes to sort of give a idea how much power the flexplate can handle.

The flexplate must be neutral balanced and work with crank sensor tone ring

I repeat.. it must be able to work with ECU controlled engine with crank sensor

I've read that there is no such animal and must be custom made!

Really.... the flexplate will go on a 408 stroker engine... but just mentioned 5.9 Mag just to keep things simple.:)

The factory flexplate on the 95 5.9L does not have any weights on them at all, I believe 93-94 is the same, the TQ conv and Harmonic Balancer are externally balanced, I looked over mine multiple times and have not seen any weights

95 5.9L Flexplates don’t have weights on them, I believe 93-94 is the same, the balancer and TQ Converter have the weights on them, I have looked over mine multiple times and have not seen any weights, the ? is will the factory plate hold up to a 408 Stroker
