Hello. I'm flying to New Orleans tomorrow for my daughters wedding. Just wondering from anyone who's experienced this if they had any "recommendations". Thanks in advance!

Bring a date and leave the bridesmaids alone? No idea actually will be going through it myself soon.

Congratulations! Have a great time. Take lots of beads.

I just got mine married off in November it was a joyous occasion. She spent way to much money but it was worth it. Congratulations to you sir.

I used to live in Biloxi and go often but haven't been there in 15 years. Just stroll around bourbon street and around the quarter. Stop in the night clubs... you'll find lots to keep you "busy"!! Especially on a Saturday night.

If you haven't had a muffaletta try one. New Orleans is the only place to try an authentic one.

Have fun but be careful in the quarter. Lots of crooks and thugs.

I do plan on trying a muffaletta there, think our daughter is taking us out to Cochon, I hear they have a "butcher" shop next door that makes a good one so will go there for lunch one day. Thanks for the ideas. I've been there once before with the son in law to be. He was packing and it was a good thing as one of these "thugs" you are talking about was riding his bike around us, basically casing us. That all ended when he noticed the firearm, too bad those people are out there but we'll be ready.

We stay at a place called The Prytania real close to the river walk area. Has security 24 hours a day to watch your vehicle and catch the rail car about a block away that takes you downtown to the quarter

If you go to Burboun st. you'll notice a few cops on horses. Don't let the horsie sip your hurricane! When the cop notices, he will jump off the horse, punch you in the face and arrest you on two counts...assulting a police officer and animal cruelty. This happened to my drunk stupid friend when we went there a few weeks after Mardi Gras. It was scary as hell, but funny to look back on.

Wear your old shoes if you go into the French Quarter. We call New Orleans "Dirty Vegas". Mardis Gras is over, but I've been on Bourbon Street during Lent and it's still lots of fun. Congrats on the impending nuptuals.

Central Grocery
Also try Alex Patriot's restaurant if he is still there in the quarter.

I'm back, kind of a shock to go from 80 degrees and sun to 24 degrees and snow! Went on a cemetery history tour, saw tomb where Easy Rider scene was shot, Nicholas Cage's final resting spot (pyramid), Marie Laveau's grave. Football wall divider is from Bobby Hebert's (New Orleans QB), good BBQ shrimp there. Also beers, pork bellies, Bourbon St. and the jazz club we went to after the wedding on Frenchman St., funk band was very good.
