Ive bought 4 whiper switches from 4 different people and none of them have been compatible with the wiring harness in my car. the harness is from a 72 dart sport. Ive included a pic of the whiper plug below...can someone please help me find the part i need. ive spent like over 100$ on switches i cant use.

They didn't make a 72 Dart sport. The difference is in how many speeds it came with and if it had power washers. Got pics of the backs of the switches you bought and of your wiper motor?

Maybe a 1973 Dart Sport built in '72?

Some people to see the date on the door sticker & go by that, but it would be a '73 model.

You can use one of the switches you have.

If the plug doesn't fit, just remove the terminals from the plug and connect without the plug.

I converted my Demon to electric wash/wipe using a switch from a car with that option by doing just that.

my harness and motor match. i need a switch but i cant find one that matches

My standard answer about the wiper systems........

1....Go to this thread and read through, and go to MyMopar and download yourself a shop manual. Some of them there are due to the guys on here, INCLUDING THE 72 MANUAL

Free service manuals

MyMopar - Mopar Forums & Information - MyMopar Tools/Reference

2...Go to the "Passion for Mopars" site and dig around. There's all sorts of info on wiper systems there

"Generally" there are (older) single speed, variable speed and three speed, and they vary some over the years.

if my car came with foot operated pump and two speed wiper, can I put in a electric washer pump using original switch, here is a picture of wiper motor and backside of switch or will I need to buy a different switch like you did and I am not sure if that wiper motor is the original one to car!

I'm not sure but i think switches for elec pumps are different. They should push in to power the pump
mine pushes in but there is no prong on back side of switch were brown wire would go, (missing in picture on plug) that spot is empty

No idea what year your car is? Also pic of switch (unplugged). Read the previous links above as well

Here are a few pics of my set-up. The switch I have is different to the one you have installed....note the gold three wire module at the seven o'clock position.

This switch came out of a '72 Demon with electric wash.

My Demon has a two speed motor (was foot pump)...now electric wash. All I did was install the new switch and add the far right hand side blue wire you can see into an empty slot on the OEM plug (this contact is 12V when switch pressed).

I then ran that additional 12V wire to the new wash motor.

it appears that your plug is different than mine I have two (2) separate plugs on my switch one with two wires and one with three wires. I guess I need to find me a switch from a 1970 Duster first, that had electric washer and hopefully I can get the plug with the wires with it so I can see how it was wired

Look at your wires.

You have red, green, blue, brown, pink. So do I. You don't need a new plug.....just remove the wires and wire directly using my pic as a reference.

All you need to do is get the right switch, and add the 12V wire to the washer motor.

will any year switch work?

You're looking for a switch with the push to wash function and six "independent" contacts on the back (yours has six, but one is doubled).

Any Mopar switch that has those features will do the job.
