Greetings, I’ve always been a mopar owner, 1st fury then 2 chargers,
It was early 1980s while looking for a body for a 340 street/strip build I struck a deal for a thrashed drag car -69 fastback barracuda. My deal was for the body, no Motor or trans. Interior was wasted save the door panels, fenderwells hacked for headers, notched K frame, relocated super stock springs, 1/2 fuel line, long axel studs, 456 gears in a 8 3/4 rear and prop shaft safety loop.
Outside was a beautiful Maaco Supreme Imron metallic blue paint with a six pack hood scoop.
My friends and I put a small block k frame in place of the strange looking notched( for deep pan)original and installed a warmed up 340 auto. And went big bore hunting!
Soon I would learn the car was an original 383 4 bbl. Formula S. I’ve always kept the car in it’s small block version of a street racer and after marriage, kids and a demanding career and 35 plus yrs, 2yrs ago I started the process of making it road worthy and presently up grading to its first full interior in years. Future plans include paint, but I want to keep the 70/80s streetracer vibe.
