We have a 2005 Buick Lacrosse and the dang drivers door will not open sometimes. Can't open it from the inside, outside,or with the key. I am thinking it is the automatic door actuator that is the problem. Can I once I get the door open disconnet the wires for the actuator. Or maybe pull the fuse. Then would the door open and close manually? Or do I have to have the actuator working. This is why I hate newer cars......lol. Thank you,Jim

As in driver side rear sliding door?
If so, there is likely some posted fix somewhere on the WWW.
Have had to deal with yotas
And caravan sliding doors, and all i can tell you they are if anything impossible to get trim panels off if door is stuck closed.

Problem with many is the actual latch is electronical..

disconnecting the actuator/ latch will do nothing. That's only for the lock function. The latch release is all by rods and cables. You need to remove the door panel and take a look inside ....

There is a rubber bumper on the end of the actuator rod that hooks in the latch, they rip out and that's the problem you got. They are about $1.00 at the dealer if you put them in your self. I have a pile of them somewhere.

Here is the act. Its the black piece on the end of the rod, o.e. might be white or gray.

Sometimes it opens and other times it will not open. Guess I have to get the door open and take the door panel off

So can I just disconnect the actuator once I get door open. I just hate electric windows and door locks.

I have never just disconnected one so not sure if it will work, It is such a easy fix why disconnect it?

The solenoid locks the door and you can't unlock it, you can if you find the solenoid and flip the lever, you have to push it down IIRC
If you look hard you can see the solenoid moving if you push the buttons on the key fob.
