Thinking about doing some performance upgrades to my 340. One of the things I was thinking of doing was putting on roller rockers. What's everyone's thoughts please?
Also will they fit under the factory rocker covers? I think not.

I think most do.
Roller rockers do not add power by themselves but they insure that your getting all the lift you should be getting from your rocker as the factory stuff is bad.

I went with the Comp Cam Ultra Pro Magnum roller rockers

1622-16 but don't hold me to that part number. I'm just winging it. Go look at Comp Cams

They do fit stock valve covers. Nice parts. Order from Advanced Auto parts and save 20% this weekend.

What is wrong with ductile iron? Fewer moving parts is always good in my book, not to mention, less expensive.

From the Crane catalog.

The post was a Roller Rockers question. I agree with you. But that was not his question. No disrespect to you.

Brule/Frieburger/Dulcich (whatever that show is called),did a test and found 20hp on a 500hp Chebbystroker, (4%),All same ratio. So maybe zero difference on a 500hp Mopar....lol
Engine Masters found the extra power with 1.6 ratio over the 1.5. No other power was found.

One key factor, the lighter aluminum rockers eliminated valve float over the steel rockers, that a huge factor..

Save your money and put a roller cam in it instead. You will see much larger gains in performance, driveability and longevity. Personally I believe the performance upgrade with roller rockers is so minute that it definitely is not worth the money.

Ive got Comp Cams red 1.6 roller rockers under Moroso valve covers (not much taller than stock if at all I believe) they clear fine. Popping off your covers and swapping out the rockers for some 1.6 ratios would be a pretty simple job, and give a little boost in performance, as long as the new set are of decent quality, just buy the best you can afford, don't go cheap, What other upgrades are you looking at?

And that was at WOT and only at the top of the RPM range.
1.6 rockers would also only make any difference in the top end.
I agree to spend the money on a cam instead if any performance difference is to be the point of the upgrade.

Waste of money on a driver or occasional racer... Just another shiny object.

That said I have a set of T & D's for my race motor but will use my Mopar iron rockers.

Another reason I run to 7000 on a 5400 cam, lol. Daymn, And here I thought those 1.6 roller-tipped aluminum go-fast rockers had something to do with my 93mph trap in the 1/8th.

I actually installed them in an effort to open my valves with a FTH,at roller cam speeds, without the slow clearance ramps, to fatten up my midrange, with an 11.3Scr. Since I have no before and after....... I can't say if it worked or not......
But since I wanted adjustables, and these were the same price in either ratio...... the HotRodder in me just went with the more is better idea

If you are sure the ratios are accurate it's one thing but so many seem to be all over the planet like stock stamped rockers.

If you are worried about that, go with Harland Sharp. Expensive, but made right. They even have some with unique geometry matched to Edelbrock heads.

Sounds like everyone is suggesting that you spend the money else where. I may have missed it but did you tell us any info on the heads and cam? If you already have a big roller cam with great flowing heads then I would look into roller rockers. If you are running a tame flat tappet cam with near stock heads then spend the money on other things because the roller rockers are not necessary in my opinion.

if you are running less than 300 # spring pressure stay with stock
