No lie, on the first time shot a VW bug beat me on a heads up run. I took such a ribbing, I had to do something. Eventually, the car evolved to a model 100 2dr sdn (lighter) and NHRA "legal" stocker (Z/SA), with a "blueprinted" engine, Headers, 8 inch converter, manual VB, 3.91 SG rear, slicks, and was running mid 16's, with a occasional (excellent conditions) 16.2-16.3.
PS: The car had to weigh minimum 2527 lbs, and actually was 2530 with about 5 gal gas, and add 170 lbs for driver. The ET/Weight calculator shows 107 rear wheel HP for a 16.5 ET. Factory HP rating was 101 engine HP.
