So who sits in the middle??

Back in the day if you had to sit in the middle with a standard floor shift you were considered the "*****" because you had to either straddle the shifter with the driver's hand between your legs holding onto the shifter OR you had scrunch both of your legs into the space of the passenger side and every time the driver went into 3rd or 4th you had really scrunch over. We're talking 3 people in the front seat!! Either way it was embarrassing for the "*****" in the middle. Those were just the rules in the 50s/60s. Sorry for the bad language but those were the terms we used. These days it's pronounced Bee-ach.
Driving a floor shift car with a girl in the middle was the dream of every pimple-faced teenager!!
