That does seem like a tight fit. Just make sure the band doesn't **** over out of centre when you install the drum. I can get you the measurement of a stock sized strut, but I'm back in the shop not before tomorrow.
I don't know if mine is stock or not, but my strut is 1.322"
If my strut was shorter, that would solve my issue too....
