So, how are we to teach manners for being out in public if we aren't allowed to take them out in public?

My boys go where I go.

I don't have a problem with kids or babies. But just don't get mad at me if I seem uninterested in the baby. I'm the kind of guy who will take time to talk to and explain something to a kid if they seem interested. I've had kids ask me about cars and how things work. I'll make time for that kid. But if you bring your little hellion to a show or cruise in and they run around like little assholes, I'll tell you. There are some exceptions, I understand that there are kids that have problems they can't help, I don't expect them to be locked away. I'll be respectful but I expect the parent to be just as respectful. I once had a kid with a problem figure out that the antenna will screw out of the fender. His dad was pissed when I yelled at the kid. I get that your kid can't control his impulses, but I'm not going to be a silent victim. Keep your kids in check.
I also understand that family restaurants will have kids in them. I'm not shocked when a kid goes running thru a McD's I expect that. But I'm not happy about it when I'm dropping $60 for dinner.
As for the nose blowing at a table, yeah, that's pretty damn gross. What gets me, is the guy who's mothers taught them to carry a handkerchief, but didn't learn any table manors! Again, I don't expect much when I'm at fast food, but I really don't want to hear it when I'm at a higher end place.

Pretty well put. Kids and babies are fine at a cruise or car show, as long as any disruptive behavior is properly dealt with. I think it is fine for a family to all be together. They just have to realize that not everybody may be as gung ho about small kids as they may be. If we all respect each other, there will be no problems.

Now dogs?? I go out of my way to meet as many dogs as the owners will allow. Dogs are a true measure of a person or situation, they are very acute to their situation and surroundings, and often can alert to danger before it starts.

Nope. No way.
Never understood why dog owners seem to think they have to bring it everywhere they go and expect it to be welcome.

My wife has zero interest in my cars, so going to cruise nights is out for her. Seems like the guys I go with, their wives feel the same and don't come, and that's OK with us. We have all been married for DECADES and love them, BUT nice to get out. We attend a large cruise at the end of the year with about 1200 cars in a large park and all the families come and we cook out and have a great time. I like to see kids around cruise nights so they can get the bug to continue our hobby as long as their parents watch them. I have a two year old granddaughter that I worship, but I would not bring her until she is maybe seven or eight years old when she can enjoy the cars or not, her choice. Go blow your nose in the bathroom.

There is a difference between an infant baby and a kid or child. Once that baby is old enough to learn behavior in public, let the parent take it out and TEACH it how to behave. If it does not behave, then th parent needs to lave the area until the child can behave.
Hey I thought the title was BABES!????? What happened??????

I love Babies --- But ---

My primary concern would be the inability to properly secure the little one's car seat in my backseat with the stock seatbelts (which aren't there). Wouldn't do it.

Now, first day of Kindergarten for my Grandbabies? Different story. Haha.
