Anyone Else Like Beer Memorabilia?

While the Dart sits in the garage waiting on spring, the beer sign bug has bit. I bought these two today. Drove in freezing rain for an hour to pick them up at a good price.

Hamm's was bought by the Olympia Brewing Company in the mid-seventies during my dad's tenure there. They also aquired Lone Star, and thusly Buckhorn. I have a picture somewhere of Grandma Ruth with a Buckhorn in her hand.

Very cool!

I have very clear memories at an earliest age of my grandpa saying "Hey kid, go get me an Oly" and I'd run to the fridge and grab him one. He stopped drinking for the most part in the early 90's and hadn't seen an Oly in about 20 years. Thought they just went out of business.

A few years ago before he passed, I was at BevMo and low and behold I found a case of Olympia there. I took it home and called him up one Saturday and told him to come over and visit. When he came over I had a couple lawn chairs set up out front and had him come sit down and talk. I reached into the cooler and handed him an Oly and you should have seen the look on his face. Was a pretty cool moment for us.

We drank a couple and after visiting for a while he just stands up and says "don't tell your grandma", crushes the can, throws it into my bushes and gets in his truck and leaves :usflag:
