Hi i put a set of used mopar super stock springs and front hangers on it. The problem is the springs pushed the axle back and the rear wheel is about 1/8 away from the rear fender and rubs when I turn. the front has over 2 inchs of space. The springs and hangars were off a 69 dart. Should I use my stock shackles they are shorter and might pull the axle closer to the front?

Pictures of the hangers, shackles, and springs? Part number on the springs?

SS springs shouldn’t move the axle that far back with the proper hardware. Can’t assume you have the right hardware pulling used stuff off another car, even if it’s an A-body. People do goofy stuff.

Ill try to get them tmmr I used my stock shackles in the rear and the car does have the right and left springs on it as the right does sit a little higher

Not only that but you can move the axle back 1.5" without coming close to having an issue. I can't imagine how far back it must be.

This is 1.5" back with a 28x12.50 tire under it.

It’s a Duster though, the wheel openings aren’t as long as on a Dart.

It’s still moved back quite a bit, something isn’t right.

I believe B body springs and E body springs have a longer front half than A body springs?

Stock B/E body springs are about 2” longer.

The SS springs are all the same length though, so when you put SS springs on a B/E body you have to install hangers that are 2” longer. Even the higher weight rated SS springs are the same length as the A-body springs.

That’s why I asked about the hangers, could be the hangers are too long. They’d still be SS springs and hangers, but they’d push the axle way back. Course they may not be SS springs either, without a part number or pictures they could be anything.

I just put a 6 leaf xhd pack on my swinger 1.5"over arch and pinon snuber . it flat hooks nitto 275s

My stock shackles are 3 inch long with the bolt at 1.5 inch. The ones on there are 4 inche with the holes at 3 inches away from the frame. Could I re drill them at like 2 1/4 inches I think that would work great

So could I just re drill these hangers then? Or would my stock hangers work?

Longer than mine on the Dart. You could either redrill those or drill the stock ones for the bigger bolt.

Right springs, wrong hangers.

Just use the stock hangers, drill the stock 1/2” hole for the 5/8” spring eye bolt.

My stock hangars drilled for 9/16 however the energy bushings are for 1/2 inch bolt the stock hangers are the two hole mounting style is that good?
