This is EXACTLY why it gets asked. I have 2 cars that I'd like to find the original blocks. It's a longshot, but, they do get reunited occassionally.

I am not a numbers guy. I think it is just a waste of time & money & effort. 90% of these cars were are daily drivers, drag raced & beat on repeatedly. So many do not have the original anything but so many are now restored & are supposedly "numbers matching", such a crock. Many forged, restamped blocks/transmissions, recreated fender tags, recreated broadcast sheets, VIN tags etc.

But when original can be reunited it is always cool to hear.
