I thought they were already there from the old roof, but yes you would have to pre drill.
A suggestion would be to tape the trim in place and then tape your edges along the trim to show where to drill in between the tape peices.
I think there are three holes along the center bottom piece, and one at each side corner where it turns toward the front.
I think it will get clearer once you see the trim in place on the car.
