It is time for my collection of Master Technician Service Conference booklets to go away. These booklets each cover a topic in great depth with descriptive text, photos, and diagrams. Topics include every system and component of the car—electrical, fuel, body, brakes, wheels/tires, steering, transmission, rear axle, driveshaft and U-joints, suspension, emissions, interior, heat and A/C—as well as topics like new engineering and technical changes for the new model year, general topics like electrical circuit basics, how to properly safety-inspect a car, how to chase down and fix difficult wind and water leaks or tough-to-find vibrations and noises, how to diagnose stubborn driveability faults, and a few of them are along the lines of how to run an effective and efficient service department. All with very clear, easy-to-understand writing and lots of pics. Samples from the collection are in this post.
Very little of the information available in these is available elsewhere; they are not just a rehash of info that's found in the service manuals. There are around 160 booklets in my collection, spanning approximately 1961 to 1978, with one to twelve issues from any given year. Lots of A-body coverage. Booklets are generally between 8 and 20 pages apiece. These are all in very fine condition. Some of the ones in my collection are available online for viewing, but many of them are not.
I would like to have $160 for the lot (one dollar apiece). Shipping from Seattle. If you are in the lower 48 states, I could probably be talked into making that a shipped price. Speed talks; I need the shelf space back.
