How are the casting dates on 8.75 3rd members read? Here's mine...7A12...

maybe year, month, day. 7 = 1967, A = january, 12 = day of month

Interesting...my 489 case has a different format and that would suggest your "A" is the month? 1 is January, 2 is February...A is October.

My 232 would be 2nd March 1972?

since the 489 was made around 1970-1974 , march 3 of 1972 sounds good for 232
