I need the dust cover for an 833 OD bell housing. If I remember correctly, isn't there also a little starter shim dealio too? I think that's right. If so, I need them both. Thanks.

I am in middle Georgia.

You mean that little half moon tin cover for the bottom of the bell housing protecting the flywheel and the bottom of the bell from collecting garbage?

Yes! And the one that goes over the starter snout......IF there is one.

This comes off my E body Cuda.
I’ll send it to you as a template to make one if you wish.
Send it back when your done.

The metal laying on the red.

The one below is the underside. Closest to the ground. The tabs bolt up.

Yeah, I can make the flat one. There's a for sale sign right across the street I can use. So then, am I assuming right that I need them both?

...and thank you, btw.

Well, properly speaking, yes. The tin up top is the front, the cover on the bottom is just that, a bottom cover. It bolts up to the bottom of the OE bell. And then two nuts and bolts hold the two together at the edges.

Gotchya. You wanna sell the bottom piece?

Negitive, sorry.

That would be great. I know I can do the flat one, I aint good at curves, but that for sale sign is pretty big. LOL

Yes, you need both. The flat one could be cut out of sheet steel (your neighbors sign) and goes on the front face of the bell. The other one covers the lower portion and likely adds some strength when it covers the gaping hole in the bottom of the bell.

There are different sizes of at least the lower one depending on the bell vintage and clutch size, I suspect the same for the forward one and it probably is different bb to sb.

Brewers has them both and has both new and used of the lowers for a reasonable price. They also have good descriptions of the sizes and p/n's.

PM me your address and I’ll get them out after the storm dumps it’s snow.

They are a little expensive but worth it.
Mine are from a ‘73 small block.

Do you know if those are the same for the OD transmission? I have no clue. I do know it's the 10.5 bell housing.

*I Think* they do. I’ll figure it out tomorrow for you since I have one on the floor..... somewhere around here.....

I do believe the sb lower cover for the aluminum bell also fits the aluminium od bell, both car and truck versions for the 10.5" clutch. I used one the last time I put one together using a car style od aluminum bell and am currently looking for one for my current od conversion parts stash which contains a truck sb aluminum bell with the ball stud pivot.

They are the same. The only difference between a non OD and OD bell housing is the size of the opening for the bearing retainer (that opening has a name but I can't remember it).
In fact, when I toasted my OD transmission brewers built my non-OD transmission, they built it with the larger OD front bearing so that I didn't have to go get a non-OD bell housing.

The later truck and van OD bells (and possibly the f body ones) have a different style (ball stud) clutch pivot. The Bells are different where the pivot attaches.

I take it that you want one for a V8.
The slant 6 ones are different........
(the shim)

The pivot attachment is different to clear the big bearing retainer.

I have a pivot that can be flipped to work on either style.
