That motor should be equal to a 400 hp rating that the car companys publish? It will definately be a fun ride! Got extra tire money?
The conservitive cam is really going to make it haul butt in the most used rpm range!
Wondering how the truck will "feel" shifting through the gears. The 46RE transmission has a Trango shift kit that I installed myself. Trans also has extra clutches, Sonnax parts,etc... I got it set for a hard second gear shift.
I realize that the stock torque convertor will not hold up very long....so going to have to with a billet convertor with a higher stall.... 2400-2600 is what Edge converters told me.
I think the higher stall speed will "tame" the shifts a little bit... not shift as hard another words.
Just wondering...
I kind of told a little fib about the Detroit TruTrac in my first post... I don't have it yet but it is in the near future. It's a open carrier right now.
I had a Auburn limited slip but one of the springs broke for some reason. I didn't have it installed less that a year... I was pissed. I'll never buy another Auburn for anything.
Once I get the engine in I will get the DTT and maybe install it myself. I have never worked on a rearend .... setting backlash.....etc...
I've watched vids on youtube...got all the tools mostly... still a little paranoid about the install.
