Lost my Dad this week,
Good Point.....thanks for the condolences.....The last couple years of my fathers life were horrible for him and I was the guy....
my wife has 2 brothers and a sister, all within 10 miles from us
when her dad died, they were all there, but me and my wife had made some choices during our life that set us apart
the biggest one was our previous house, we sold the house we had before and bought a duplex, moving her parents in on one side and us living on the other (his health was going down and we wanted them to live by us, without him feeling like he was giving up any of his autonomy)
while her siblings were all there when he died, in the years leading up to it, she had a much closer relationship with him then any of and i know she wouldnt trade that for the world
on the other hand, i live 5000 miles from my parents, my sister lives next door to them
i'll be seeing both sides of the coin sooner or later
sorry if im rambling, back on track
so, you invested more time, effort and money in your parents then your brother did and in return, got to be with him more
and now, your dads earthly possessions will be split down the middle.
trust me, you still got the better end of the deal
