73 a body k member in my 68 cuda

will this fit?the 73 has disc brakes.would this have the larger bolt pattern?
Physically it should. Yes, 73-76 discs were all large bolt pattern, 5x4.5. If you swap the k, I recommend swapping the entire thing including the steering linkage, much is the same as the 68, but there are a couple pieces that aren't and will be required to use the 73. Like the idler arm. Just easier to grab the whole thing. You'll also want the upper control arms off the donor as well as the spindles. If that 73 has a sway bar, get it and the lower control arms as well as all hardware.

This is the correct way to get this done. Dukeboy318 is giving you the right info

My 73 duster has a 68 barracuda K frame. I would think any a-body K member from 67 to 76 would be interchangeable? And that is question? For the masses...

I prefer the 73-up K frames for the unbreakable motor mounts, cheaper replacement parts and the disc brakes and sway bar. I have two 67 Valiants and both have 73-up k frames in them.

And as I said above, yes, IF you swap the entire thing. There are a few pieces that are not interchangeable, for example, you cannot use the 68 upper control arms on a 73-76 spindle. You also can't without modification, run a 73 swap bar on a 68 K. So you can't mix and match, it's one or the other, but the entire thing is interchangeable

The interchange issues appear at steering linkage. Idler arms, pitman arms, and drag links are different. Those with power steering could find themselves needing a pitman arm that Chrysler never made. From what I've read, the aftermarket does now offer the "bastard" idler arm so most any combination might be doable.

Does the 73 sway bar present any issues? I got a complete package off a 73 Dart Sport and it has the sway bar tucked in the k-member.

Can't argue with opinion!
I like the tuff-guy look, with stuff hanging down, fat tires sticking out, a bit too high a ride height, air filter sticking out of the hood, etc. But it's got to have aluminum slot-mags; 15 rears/14 fronts.....IMO, lol

U will need the strut rods for the K member u r using. 67-72 r fine thread and take a 1 piece bushing. 73 up use a multi piece bushing and r course thread. Kim

Actually you just need to match the strut rod with the style of bushings you use. The K frame and LCA mounts for the strut rods are the same, the thickness of the bushings changed which prompted the change in the strut rods.
