I'm hoping the stage turns out like I've planned. When it's done the (repainted eventually) Beatles will move around via the mechanism I've robbed from the ice rink and an MP3 player will broadcast music from a speaker beneath the stand. I'll also have a series of spot lights added to the stage.
It's difficult to tell from the poor quality pictures I took but the plane's propeller spins (at 40,000 RPM) and there are four blinking lights on it also (a clear one on each wingtip and red ones on top of the tail and bottom of the engine compartment. The plane circles the water tower via a motor beneath the layout table coupled to an enclosed driveshaft that extends to the top of the tower.
