On the hunt now for a new replacement fuel tank for my buddy's '66 Chrysler Valiant here in New Zealand.
Does not need to be a fancy aluminum one....plain steel as in factory style is fine. This car is Australian assembled, and has the recess for the spare wheel like some later Barracuda models.
Links to a suitable Supplier would be most welcome...thanks.

This is what the current tank looks like;

I recently bought one off Ebay, with a new sending unit, for $134. I managed to salvage the old "pad" as the tank being replaced was not old...just a leaker. You should consider the pad as a necessaty

That looks like a standard Valiant/Dart tank no different than the US models so you should be able to get a new replacement one from a few vendors that are on Ebay.I've seen them as low as 90 USD on there.

What side of your car is the filler tube on,???. That might make a difference. All the tanks sold here in the states, the filler tube is on the left side. So, if your filler tube is, also, then they are not hard to find. Check out 'Vansauto.com"

Just out of curiosity, what side of the road do you drive on, in NZ, left or right. just like to know. Thanks
Dave

We drive on the Left side of the road - steering wheel to the right.

Filler pipe and filler neck are on the Left hand side. :steering::poke::lol:

You might want to consider fixing the tank you have, or buy a new tank and modify it. I don't suppose there are too many of these in salvage yards in NZ
