Hi guys, been looking on these forums on and off, just decided to make an account. I have a question... Were there any passenger side mirrors manufactured in the style of the one to match the one in my pic? I have a 1973 Dart Custom, its my first car, it doesn't have a passenger side mirror and I'm blind in my left eye sooo to be able to legally drive it with my condition, it would have to have a passenger mirror. Plus, it'd help me feel more comfortable if it had one as well. I'm wondering if anyone can tell me if they were produced back then? And if so, where could I go to find one? Ive seen some eBay listings but... $250+ for a (probably) cheap chinese reproduction? I mean if thats my only option then okay, but my cars all original I do believe (with the exception of tires) so I'd like to find an original mirror if one exists... Any help is appreciated, thank you in advance..

They were called companion mirrors that match the left hand remote mirror.

The were produced but in low numbers. Read up on the placement of the right mirror. To match the drivers door mirror placement may render it useless. While I can't be absolutely certain... I'm willing to bet the photos in the above pic were reversed in printing. Left shown as right and right shown as left. The right mirror is the one mounted closest to belt molding / vent window.

They were intended for the passenger- not driver--- when placed correctly driver finds them useless...

You have to have a friend hold the mirror for the best position. If it's far enough forward it works. Not really well though. I was tempted to stick on a full sized blind spot mirror to see if that helps. Here's a couple photos of the one I put on my 66. It's better than nothing.

I was actually just looking at mine yesterday while driving. The right side mirror body is shaped different to help with the angle, so I think they intended it for the driver...No It's not perfect. And they are just regular mirror glass, not curved like modern ones. On the left lane of highway, I can look back the right lane with just a slight lean back and to the right.
On the Duster I have the advantage of no wing window. I have mine placed same as driver side.

I had to fight with the post. LOL I wanted a mirror but I like the balanced look. My Swinger is next. I have a RH remote from a right hand drive car. Bought it from Slant six Dan.

Look in the back of the FSM for a pass side mirror mounting template.

The aftermarket ones are really nice. I would get a authentic reproduction one

Put one on my 74 Duster it’s pretty much useless, the repops do not have enough adjustment to work well.
Got to figure out how to fix it I need a wedge ??
