Todays class will teach you what year this rim was first offered, and what Model?
Standard or as an option.
You tell me. I don´t know really...

The rallye??? I will guess '70 models, 14 in on A bodies, 14 and 15 on B Bodies. But I have forgotton most of what I learned 30 years ago!!!

The front is a Rallye, first available for the 1970 model year as an extra cost option on several models which started August 1, 1969.

The exception is the AAR Cuda, they came with the Rallye wheels standard & no other optional wheel available.

The Rallye wheel option started for the model year 1970 so the picture of the '68 Dart with them on the front had to have been taken in late '69 or even the early '70s..........

Someone posted recently that Rallye's were standard on all 70 340 Dusters. Is that true? When I had my original drums cut recently there was definitely red paint leftover on the face of the drum like it would've been from the factory of a car equipped with Rallye wheels.

Why would there be red paint on the brake drums of a car that came with Rally wheels?

The rallyes were optional on the '70 Swinger 340. My build sheet calls for body painted 14 X 5.5 steel wheels with red ring poverty center caps. These are what came on my EB5 '70 Swinger 340.

I have always thought that the bodies of the cars on the assembly lines were painted before any attachments were made to it.
So the rear axle or front suspension would not have been painted while they were mounted to the car.
There would not have been any overspray on any of the parts due to the fact that the body was painted in a separate location from the other parts.

Are we still talking to ourselves here? The op hasn't responded as to which wheel he is asking about. We are guessing it's the rally.

Not sure about rallyes but it's plausible as cars with factory road wheels (AKA Magnum 500) did get red painted drums.
