I was out in the shop today and it made me think to post this question. I bought a 69 dart from a buddy of mine for parts. when I got it home I realized that at some time somebody put 71 a body bucket seats in it. Well, rather than drilling holes in the floorboards they took a cutting torch and blew right through the original seat track bolts and into the floor. So today I'm in my shop restoring the 71 bucket seat tracks. List the most moronic thing you've seen done to a car

I got a 71 340 Duster originally in-violet now white. It came here for a clutch. I put it on the lift and the doors wouldn't open. The rocker panels were replaced with aluminum siding front to back. And the floors. all pop riveted in place and bondo'd over on the side but not underneath. They had blue light strips hiding the rivets. The car had several trophies in the trunk and a large display of pics for shows.

I saw a car show trophy in a customers house. It read "Lowest Car" I didn't even comment on it.
How about spending >$1800 on EFI and still getting a TBI setup.

You do realize that now you have to share pics of this handy work.

On a Honda the boys were puttin tires on out front at a tire store I was alignment tech at.

Missing rotor AND caliper on the left front. Brake hose clamped off with vise grips and zip tied to the strut. When asked if he wanted it fixed, he just said "naw mah, jes puts my tahs and wheez on, yo."

I once saw a 70 Duster in a salvage yard that had a Chevy straight six and three speed manual trans in it

I was about 19 and I had a 1971 Charger and a 1972 Charger parts car....being 19 I decided I liked the grill on the 72, and the signal indicators and the side markers, because they reminded me of my 73 Duster and 76 Dart, did I mention I was 19??

So I swapped the 72 front end onto my 71...idiot. I thought I had an awesome car because it was one of a kind....I sold it eventually and it rattled around Tucson, Arizona for years. It made me cringe every time I saw it. My buddies will never let me live that one down.

When I was in high school I had a 68 Roadrunner. I pulled along side another RR that had some brackets welded on the side and a ladder was hanging on the brackets. I pulled up a little farther, and the logo on the hood said "HEMI." His car was probably less than 2 years old.

I've heard of that and until I seen it in a truck about 6 months ago I didn't believe someone could actually do it? I was looking at a power wagon. Can you say RED FLAG !!?
Was back in the 70s when I seen it done. Big red flag!!!

Newspaper wadded up in the almost non existant trunk extensions, all being held in there with spray foam! And, this was a 71 Cuda! Nobody could pry this car out of the hands of the 20 something who owned it, his father helped him with the handiwork! Sadly, I think it went to scrap, along with the 68 RR that the dad had, which had the same high quality work throughout!

In the early '90s at the Mopar Nationals a '70 or '71 Challenger with custom paint job and dual Thermoquads, BOLTED to the outside of the hood! Looked wonderful with the hood up, and the TQs were badly corroded from exposure. I pray that someone saved that car from its owner!

Sold them especially the cars that went to flippers !!
Scrapped some pretty nice cars with tons of parts ! doh
