Whoever says "wherever you want to place them" is just wrong. I can measure the exact placement later this week if nobody has given you the correct answer by then.

In which world does putting your emblems on your car become wrong?
I get the impression that most Mopar people wanted something a little different? How is putting an emblem right back were somebody else put it being different?
I'd be surprised if they even had a jig to get those somewhere close. I bet a 1960s drunk worker staggered over there and slap it on! LOL

Whoever says you can't place your emblem on your own car wherever you want is wrong!

Look, either you restore a car or you customize it. I get the feeling the OP is restoring his car, and there is only one correct place to put the emblem on, simple as that. Whatever YOU want to do is immaterial to what the OP is asking for.

Look, I never told him what I wanted to do? It's not my car. Nor did I give him a suggestion where to put it.
Nobody leaves their car Rusty and greasy in old and nasty everybody restores them. If they restore them back to the day they were bought or restore them back to the way Mopar intended you to have them. So now I think if it was intended for everybody to have the same exact car that would be all the same exact car. Isn't that why there's options for colors different Interiors different Motors different stuff? I have no idea what they were thinking when they came up with direct connection and Mopar performance? So we could all have the same exact emblem in the same exact place?
I'm sure he could much faster Google 1968 Mopar and press images and get six million pictures of exactly where that emblem came from the factory. I'm done with this conversation put it where you want to.

The placement (according to the arrow) appears to be in the correct position---- I say this because my GT emblem would be about there; I'm assuming of course that your car is a real GT and not a clone. It should already have then, holes in the trunk lid. The new emblems should therefore be a direct fit into the holes--yes?
BTW, I'm looking for new emblems for mine and Year One and others are a no go. May I ask where you got yours?
Nice looking car! Cheers Paul

Yeah I figured out where they went, mine were filled in , yes it’s a real GT. I found my emblems on eBay about 2 months ago brand new for $25 a set, they had red edges instead of black so I just painted them
