Any model builders here?
An unfinished project of mine.
Started with the original issue 1967 Barracuda kit.
The trunk lid was removed and saved as it was unique, a sill was fabricated.
The grill was carved back to create a proper floating grill and remove the chunky kit block on the back side.
The valance was also carved thin and shaped more correctly.
The engine bay and cowl came from a later Revel Dart.
Even still I needed to modify the battery tray area.
Unlike the trunk I was able to carve out the doors and use replacements from a later Barracuda kit.
New hinges were made from wire and setup to open correctly.
The rear tubs were from something else and the rear load are floor created.
With the opening doors I couldn't use the interior tub and needed to clean up the chassis pan from the Dart kit.
The full tunnel came from the interior and was grafted into the chassis pan.
Another look at the tubs
Not sure where I was going with the spare tire, probably was going to cut one in half.
Notes to correct gas tank straps to the 67 style.
At the time 1/25 scale small blocks were hard to find, I think this was a 340 from something, no idea.
Not a bad stand in for a 273
Automatic transmission from something else.
Original kit wheels.
I think I found some aftermarket red lines,
Now that I am basically done with the two restorations I think I might get back on this.
