Compare apples to apples. The OP has a 408, similar to my 416, which is a solid roller with Indy heads, 950 HP carb and 10.7 CR ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^]
Sounds great, but approx. 500 or so h.p. is easier to cool than approx. 723 , was my point.
