ok .. does anybody know when using the fmj spindle for the disc brake swap ..which OUTER tie rod to use , the 1966 or the one that fits the spindle[ 'volare ]read many post... one say fmj on the out side , ,also considering the 8.8 swap .. heres my question on that since i cant find it .. when changing to 4 wheel DISC , can you run manual brakes [non powered no booster ]i know about the proportioning valve or adjustable valve , BUT what about the master cylinder ? many say the 74 charger BUT ? ALSO SINCE 4 WHEEL DISC , IS THERE A CHECK VALVE ON THE REAR BRAKES[ ON THE CYLINDER] YOU CAN REMOVE ? OR what is the EASY way to do it .. , i know they have boosters but dont want to complicate things in a already tight engine compartment thanks all, you help will be greatly appreciated

My 65 dart uses 81 mirada front brakes, spindles, and rotors. I used a 73 duster upper control arms and duster tie rod ends.
Also a 73 duster manual disc brake master cylinder.

Use the off set upper control bushings to get your caster right.

i ordered all new including the additional caster bushings , so since i haven't torn it apart yet, the tie rods are both 9/16th to fit the sleeve , but dont know if they will''WORK'' with the fmj spindle ? some say early ,some say outers to match the cars platform [fmj] i ordered the early outers ,, but i want to have the correct parts on hand to put it back together asap .thanks for what your telling me, also i dont know if anyone has done a 4 wheel disc with a non power /no power [hydrovac] system , will any no power Chrysler cylinder have enough volume for 4 wheel disc . or better yet if you have done this swap without power , what worked for you .. THANKS ALL

The lower ball joint will be 73-76 A-body. The tie rod end is not the same part number as what you have, but they are interchangeable. From my understanding, one of them has longer threads.

THANK you .. i have those lowers , keeping the small bj and using dr diff bushing .. sounds like what i have will work thanks again jim still no reply on the brake booster question .. someone has to be be running 4 wheel disc .

I wouldn't run a booster, but I've never run four-wheel discs (except on cars that left the factory with them, which all had power brakes).

87 Gran fury knuckles + discs, early 70s C-body tie rods inner and outer, and 73-76 balljoints are whats under my 66. I used a 73 charger manual master, with the 87 gran fury prop valve. if i were to ever do disc id probably get an adjustable prop valve combo all in one. Ive seen em somewhere before, i want to say inlinetube.com? Anyway. good luck!

Yes, you can use manual brakes if you have a strong leg. Use one w/ the smallest bore you can find (~7/8"D). I suggest a modern 2-bolt aluminum MC on an adapter plate. Dr. Diff sells a kit for ~$100.

thank you .i did see a gm[ug] cylinder in jegs . it states a 2 piston front, and up to 4 piston rear . non power . the bore shows 1.125 . BUT, i would assume the smaller bore, would assert the most pressure ? volume vs. pressure ?
