Are A-body Barracudas considered uni-bodies?

I know this may seem like a dumb question, but it’s always something I’ve wondered. Barracudas obviously don’t have frame rails that are separate from the bottom of the body, it’s all one unit. The rails are welded in with the floors (at least I think so). I have a 2000 Jeep Cherokee that has basically the same type of chassis, and it’s considered a uni-body. Just curious as to what it is called on A-body Barracudas. Are they different from usual uni-bodies? I’ve never heard them being called uni-bodies, nor am I sure if that term was ever even used in the sixties.

Not a Full framed Body so I say yes, Pert near a unabody

I think the proper term in Unit Body but over the years it has morphed into a bunch of different versions.

The simplest answer is that any vehicle that doesn't have a separate frame is a unibody. Early Camaro's had a bolt
on front sub frame, but I would consider the body itself, as a "unibody".

Which part of that seems like a dumb question? I think it's a damn good one. Anyone who acts like you should be born knowing all of this stuff is a boob...and not the good kind.

Yes, some of us were lucky enough to have grown up in a garage helping dad (or mom) wrench on the old Newport or whatever and absorbed this information through osmosis. The rest of us have to figure this stuff out some other way.

While I completely agree with the other responses (yes, the Barracuda is a Unibody car), you could make a snarky argument that that the front clip and the rest of these car can move as two separate units under stress...which is why we need those damn subframe connectors. :)

All Chrysler products without a separate removable separate frame are a "unibody." Pickups are not. Interestingly I don't think Ma ever built a unibody pickup, but Ford did

And the Honda is a uni-body 67Dart. That's what made mopars so much faster than the competition- light weight uni-body

That's why it's so funny to see "frame off restoration" in listings for Mopars for sale.
