I looked at the aussiespeed website a lot of interesting goodies but does any body know.......with their hedders, are there clearance problems since Australia is RH drive and US is LH drive?

More likely interference with the large oil filter housing they put on the R side of Aussie engines, at least based on a 1964 slant a guy in Malaysia posted. But, I am sure they thought of that. The problem is all the Aussie-Speed stuff costs a lot to get to the U.S. Likely they will fix that w/ higher volume distributors.

So did he sell the rights or the design? Heck Dr. Dodge is over on slantsix, ill just ask him.

Since I saw that post from AussieSpeed, I communicated with them directly. Yes, they are designed to suit LHD vehicles. Yes, they will clear the big starter motor. Yes, you can run a pair of them instead of one header and the cut-and-shut stock manifold for the rear three cylinders. I also asked if there was any chance they would be doing replica Hyperpak headers, they are not sure, subject to getting hold of a sample I guess. I'm very keen to buy a set of the AussieSpeed/Dutra Headers...

Did you get an answer? Not sure if it's cheaper for me to take the 38% kick in the junk on the difference in the Canadian to the US $, or pay the freight from Oz (they're more or less even money to Canada)

Hi Guys,
They just posted an update on their Facebook page this morning, along with a photo of the pattern!

Cost is AUS$695/pair or AUS$395/each. I've ordered a set already! They also claim the new-improved design enables the customer to use the big starter motor, which was my deciding factor.

I have to wonder how many people will want Doug's manifolds now he sold it to Aussie land? Seems like human nature is to want something after it is gone? No doubt they are well thought out and work great. Lots of eye candy there too. A lot of slant performance is based on eye appeal. Seems to me.

I remember reading about Doug making those in the late '90's, and he wasn't young then. I figured he'd be handing the torch off at some point. The Australians have a pretty good rep for quality (not that Doug did not) so this should be a good sign!

Probably a lot less hassles to cast them in Aussie land too maybe. Slantsix.org. is a very valuable site I admit!!

maybe, building a budget/unique 69 dart to raffle/auction off as a fundraiser for a project. Might be cool to use in that, but, then again it might get more $$$ if it has a v8 in it.
hate to say this, but if your looking for resale value on a raffle car, drop a 350 in there
thats something everyone will recognize, even if they have no clue what body it is on
