vin tag lost at paint help

I was only joking bout the chemical sniffing. I should have used the "sarcasm stick" lol. But I haven't had good experience in regards to my 69 and the body shop. I took my fendertag off when it went to the body shop. My dash was out already so the vin stayed with me as well.
I'm confused as to what the OP is missing....is it a vin or fendertag?

Originally fender tags were installed before paint. They were installed with one screw, bent up and the body was painted. Then they were folded down and another screw installed. Subsequently the latter screw does not have paint on it. But what do I know... I sniff chemicals all day.:poke:
