I shift my motor at 6300 rpm, no rev limiter as i have a 275/60/15 drag radial, and 3.73 gears so will go through the top end at 5200-5300 RPM. Have not been to the track yet, hoping to go this summer.
I would not race it until you add a rev limiter (especially with sticky drag radials).
Just food for thought...Years ago I snapped a u-joint coming off the line and my motor smacked the rev limiter before I could react and let off. The rev limiter saved my motor from possible destruction...or in my case most certain destruction...I was spraying it that day.
