Stop in for a cup of coffee

Ha ha, it's ok, Chris, I'm fine plus I have a 13-yo boy to help me bleed brakes. :)
about a month ago, both front brake lines blew apart on my jeep. I had no help to bleed them but Autozone sells this little bottle, with some attachments and hoses. hangs with a magnet to the frame, connect the tube to the bleeder valve, crack the line, press the pedal twice. Fully bled all 4 corners in less than 10 minutes. 8 bucks

Neat. I've used this pressurizing lid many times and never had an issue. I do see a problem with it now that I've blown a reservoir once, though.

so... been calling around trying to find a 30 foot culvert. No luck. Special order length which costs upwards of 5 times as much as an on the shelf 20 footer. Can't get thru the highway department either.

I'm tired of messing with fertilizer equipment. It's nasty. Everything metal is rusted. Hoses are all stopped up with salted out crap.. Just a giant pain in the butt..

Impala with timing cover leak. Aparrently theres an alignment tool needed to replace cover. Here we go again....

Good morning Barb, Duke and Gorge, what is this other coffee thread they are talking about ?
Sorry for the confusion. I go and have coffee Monday-Friday at 7am local with a friend. We've been buddies for 50 years, been having coffee every morning for ten.

Yay me! Turn out the previous diagnos-er was mistooken.
Not crank seal but two loose bolts. I threaded the leakiest one out with my finger. Brake cleaner, some thread sealant and give er torque. Should be the end of that.

Look under the How to articles, exterior and body section, second article from the bottom, and see if that helps.
the one for stainless? If it's pitted it's more likely over regular steel or worse-pot-metal. Completely different animal. You can clean up and polish, but not much you can do with pits. You would think somebody would have a compound that would at least improve it. Maybe some one of wipe on paste that could improve them. Same with pitted chrome on bumpers and such, but potmetal seams to have bigger craters.

Thanks should read with the reading glasses.....

Back from the shop car, the 55 Chevy is close to being done, a couple more weeks. Still waiting for the custom radiator to be finished builder does a lot of industrial stuff so car stuff gets put to the side. My guy gave him a push last week. He's waiting, and been waiting for mine and four others since November. I'm first on the list...yea!! Had the hood shroud on the car, all done sanded, filler, sanded again, and primed. Cool thing is no visible bolts, all attachments are underneath the panel. I'll try and post some pics later.

Also saw one of the car's they've been working on for the last year. Re-doing a 66 Chevy SS station wagon, have taken it from a four door made it a two door. Putting an LS engine in it all modified, no visible radiator hoses and a bunch of other stuff. Anyway they are taking it to SEMA and another big show I'd never heard of. It's bare metal right now a lot to do.
