I enjoy a good meal, but I would not complain if served a bowl of cereal on Thanksgiving Day. My daddy was different; first thing on his mind in the morning, What's for breakfast?; first thing on his mind after breakfast, What's for lunch?; first thing on his mind after lunch (and his afternoon nap), What's for dinner?; first thing on his mind after dinner, What's for desert? We are (were) very different in that respect.

Eat to live :.... Several small meals a day ( some consider it snacking ) ,3 or 4 times.

Smaller more frequent meals is much better that huge meals any day but having said that everything in moderation.

Eat to live. Choosing something for meals is almost limited, and restaurants (3) leave a lot to be desired.
You know, just get bored with the same old meals week after week.

All these buffets and huge meals in restaurants are killing us. We should be doing push ups and push aways from the table as well.

Hey, I enjoy food :) Only difference between me and your Dad is I call it supper :D

Eating is generally a required annoyance for me, so most of the time I only eat because I have to.

The cycles of my life have led me from living to eat when I was burning 4000 calories a day working to now
at my age it's strictly eat to live to maintain height/weight proportionate and good fasting blood numbers.
High protein, low carbs and minimum portions----------------:-(

Guess I'm somewhere in between.

I did work with a guy for a long time that every morning when he came in, it was like "where we going for lunch?". And he was all about desert. He would purposely not finish his meal, so he could get desert. Now, he's diabetic

with me it depends on two things

1 what is the dish?
2 who is cooking it?

for instance, i have a sister in law who can prepare a fish (and i love fish) in such a manner you would never guess it spend its entire life under water...dry as a popcorn fart
i love fish, but when she makes it, 1 serving is enough

now, i also have a few friends who are asian and when one of them makes eggrolls it is on
i think my record is about 14 eggrolls in one sitting (and i would have eaten more if i wouldnt have had to share them)

14 would be a real belly buster.

Back in the 90's had a guy who work for me bring in a huge dish of eggrolls his Asian wife made, about 20 or so. I was suppose to take them home. Gone before I got there.
At 62, my meals get smaller as the day goes on, but still love a GOOD meal.

We went to the Chinese buffet last night...i only had one eggroll
Just not that good

Eat to live mostly. Follower of Dr Joel Fuhrman. He knows his stuff. It works. After following his recommendations for 2 months, my cholesterol dropped 50 points. Problem is getting any support from the rest of my family. They want to tell me "No, no. You need some ***** and *****." Or "I can't live without *****." None of them are very healthy and they're all overweight. I had to tell them that when any of them are healthier than me, I'll listen to them.

LOL, yeah.

I was in a buffet a few years ago and this huge fat guy comes walking in with a 2x4 about 3 foot in length in his hand. He walks to a table and leaves his stick, and goes to get some food.

He returns with two plates heaped to capacity. Sits down, lifts his belly up and placed the 2x4 across his thighs to rest his belly on.

No joke!

Gross

My wife and I have cut back on portion sizes. We are both 69 and don't eat like we used to. If we eat too much it's a night of indigestion and Gaviscon liquid and tablets.
