A friend of mine bought a disc brake set up off a E-body? to switch his 66 Coronet toDisc brakes. He ran into a problem on the lower Ball Joints. He ordered new BJ's but the bolt holes on the lower BJ's are further apart than on the new BJ's. Any idea what spindles he has? Or what BJ's he needs to buy?

FIrst think is to figure out if the spindles are wrong or the Ball joints.

Do you know the part # of the new LBJ he bought?

Not sure year your spindles came off but the 73 Ebody disks spindles should be 4.325" bolt spacing on the ball joints

Yeah we are thinking they didn't come off a E body. Ok he came up with 4.54 inches on the disc spindles?

Ok, I think we figured out he has 73 C-body spindles. Or the 74-78 C-body. Thanks myduster360 for all your help.

Just remember that the 71-72 B body spindles use a different wheel bearing than all the 73+ rotors. The rotors for those are specific to 70-72 E-bodies and 71-72 B bodies. Originally they were a 2 piece rotor, and for awhile they were quite a bit more expensive to replace. There's now a 1 piece rotor made to fit these applications, it costs a little more than the 73+ rotors but they're readily available.

You can also use a bearing adaptor for those spindles from DoctorDiff to use the 73+ rotors.
