Salary has its limits. For example,if you continously exceed the 40 hour workweek
And never do less than 40,then proper compensation is in order.
But if the extra drive time is part of your days earnings then its like a break even-almost.

Salary isnt designed to be in the employer’s favour 100% of the time. Its intended to be fair for both parties.
The laws regarding exempt (salaried) employees vs. non-exempt (hourly) employees in the US are very specific. The States also add regulations to that.

In my case, at my salary and responsibility level I am clearly defined as exempt under the law and not entitled to overtime pay under any circumstance.
