Another DEADBEAT seller be warned

word to wise: Insure EVERYTHING to your resale value sent through USPS. It only costs like $4 and its worth it.

I shipped a Canon AE-1 to a guy...lost with tracking, guy tells me 3 months later he never got it. That one was out of my hands as I tossed the tracking receipt after 2 months and apperently they cant reprint a lost tracking number...? He waited too long to tell me to submit a claim.2nd time a month later: I ship a Banks turbo housing (heavy cast iron in a well made/backfilled box with that kevlar glass tape, bulletproof) baseline $50 insurance as I got tracking on this one and was watching it. Well, it says delayed out of St. Louis to first sub station. Delayed? then I check again...never made it to first substation so I'm on it. I call USPS and they tell me the same info off the website. I run a trace and the postmaster at the first substation never received it and looked for it on "the shelf" where mystery no address parts end up. Nothing...I share all my emails with USPS with the guy (im still getting monthly USPS lost status updates!) who's super understanding at this point and we both agree that this thing is lost so I refund the entire price shipping and all. He tells me how "good a guy" I am and I just reply what else would anyone else do? So fast forward 3 weeks and I get a check from USPS for $73, $50 and the shipping cost of $23. They lost it WITH TRACKING!!! All the stuff ends up in Atlanta warehouse where if its not claimed...(By who and how???) they sell it at auction by the pallet or give to local goodwill. USPS asked for a sales listing (Fedex did too when they broke my cast iron stroker crank flange) when I claimed the part was worth $460 but I failed to insure it to that price like a fool.

Yes it’s always risky I sell mostly Harley parts and buy mopar parts , but the idea of him calling us names and not taking any responsibility in packaging or the delay in shipping has put me over the edge I never once even contacted him in the 10 days I was waiting for the parts because I work my *** of for a living n I get that sometimes it takes time to handle this stuff during the course of the week w work n family and kids sports and weather , after paying promptly waiting and exceSsive amount of time then getting 25$ in parts and topping it off w an attitude that this is all on me well I do t need to deal w that . Bad business . Shouldn’t sell parts if u are not willing to put out the effort to package and ship in a timely fashion , and worse cast blame on purchaser who had absolutely nothing to do with that end .. well up here in New York in person it would be handled much differently he can hide out in Omaha and call us retarted and shady for paying promptly my sons learning everyone’s not a stand up man
