Because I feel more connected to the vehicle. You can feel the steering, the brakes, when you break traction. No over sensitive electric power steering, no abs, no traction control. Just me and the car. Also I tend to trust it more because I'm the one who built it up.

hell the steering in modern cars feels light years better then the over boosted crap that came in 60-70's era chryslers and fords... holy crap that stock power steering makes me feel drunk driving the darts i've had over the years.. way too easy and no feel at all..
