This is why I won't buy a FBBO gold membership

Oops! I think the A Body crowd is pretty cool, down to earth and the most helpful and hospitable group under the Mopar umbrella in my opinion. This group has banded together many times to help each other out, lended a hand, a shoulder during tough times, a prayer during the loss of a loved one or illness. Heck there was a bunch of the coffee shop guys that got together to help a fellow member put up a hoist in his garage. They have now made it a annual event with members traveling all the way from the west coast and Texas to Pennsylvania for the get together. Yes, the A body group is a special lot. We have more passion for our brand and models than most enthusiasts do. Talk about cars, the gen 1 Barracuda was a super cool concept and was never meant to be compared to the E body cousin. It was meant to compete with the Mustang which the Barracuda was released weeks earlier. Dart's and Valiants were a Mopar staple and when they came out with the Duster and then the Demon models Mopar had something going then. A 340 Dart, Duster, or Demon were feared on the street or the track. All the models that followed were no different than any other brand. When fuel prices went up along with insurance costs and the Government got involved in cars, all the manufacturers backed off on the performance and added energy absorbing bumpers to their full line. Heck the fastest production vehicle in 1978 was the Dodge Little Red Express Truck. Mopar has always had bullet-proof drivetrains from the indestructable slant 6 to the feared 426 Hemi. (and guess what, A body Mopars were available with all of those combinations. Yep, we are a cool group. Stick around and enjoy the ride. toolmanmike
