where to buy exhaust?

The shop was lazy and wanted to do the bend work IMO. I've installed a couple of the hearthrob kits from Jegs/summit and never had any issue.

Unless you're building a point type race car, using mandrel bends is good for bench racing and that's about all. Take it to your local shop and support your local small business. You're splitting hairs over mandrel VS die and shoe bends.

I wanted to support my local exhaust shop that I had used a couple times in the past, but their custom exhaust quote was 3 times what the Summit kit I bought was so I went that route. I am very happy with the kit. I know I would do a better job installing the second one, but I'm sure this one will last a very long time!

I found the TTI exhaust kit extremely easy to install on my 66 valiant. The headers.....that’s a whole another issue:BangHead:

My summit kit was pretty easy to install and a very good value imo.
72 Demon 360 727 manual steering and brakes Doug's headers.
Only real issue was the two pipe pieces on each side from the muffler back were mislabelled left and right. Pretty obvious when you try to fit them.
A little trimming here and there but nothing unexpected from a kit made for a 45 year old car.
Sounds pretty good too.

I took the car back to the shop after I got the wires connected so they could make the turndowns, no charge. Well, they tried welding directly to the cutout and that ruined one of them, I'm waiting on a replacement which they're reimbursing me for. Fortunately (for them) Badlanz sells individual pieces of the cutouts, so I only need to order the valve/block piece and not the motor, about half the cost. Oh, and they fixed the heat shield on my other car free of charge.

It's an honest and reasonably priced local shop. They just happened to goof up a little on this one but have owned up to it. If you're not after a showroom car, this is the place I'd use again. And I enjoy driving too much to ever have a showroom quality car.
